CLIENT DESCRIPTION

Walton Enterprises supports the personal, philanthropic, and business activity for the Walton family. We are a family-led organization, supporting multiple generations of Sam and Helen Walton’s family.

The Property Management team assists the family members with all property related activities including acquisition, design, and development. They manage a variety of properties including both personal and commercial real estate, vehicles, equipment, and other property related assets throughout the country. The Property Management team also supports the Walton Family Foundation and Walton Enterprises office buildings.
DIRECTOR, PROPERTY AND ESTATE MANAGEMENT

Walton Enterprises is seeking a skilled, highly motivated, and entrepreneurial individual to join the team as Director, Property and Estate Management. The ideal teammate will have the demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage properties and assets, and provide exceptional service with discretion and professionalism.

The Director, Property and Estate Management oversees multiple household and recreational properties (both local and remote) on behalf of the Walton family. This role is responsible for the operation and maintenance of real estate and personal property assets, the logistical needs of the family while onsite, and ensuring a positive experience when family members and guests stay on family properties. The position manages guest services staff, groundskeepers, vendors, projects, and household operations to ensure properties are safe, functional, and maintained to the highest standards. They will also coordinate with or supervise maintenance crews, the Security team and Construction team to ensure seamless operations of the properties, collaborating with others in the family office to deliver a positive experience.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The position directs property and estate operations, supervises staff and vendors, manages budgets and projects, and oversees household manuals, maintenance schedules, and pre-arrival and post-departure readiness for family members and guests. The Director ensures smooth day-to-day operations while anticipating issues, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining excellent service delivery.
 
  • Lead and support the on-site teams, ensuring excellent service and hospitality to family members.
  • Ensure homes are organized, safe, functional, and prepared for family and guest visits.
  • Ensure properties and grounds are maintained to family standards & preferences. 
  • Create a hospitable environment for family and guests while on-site.
  • Develop and manage budgets, staffing needs, and financial tracking.
  • Steward family resources to their preferences and standards. 
  • Oversee vendor relationships, negotiate terms, and maintain a trusted provider network.
  • Develop and maintain household manuals, operating policies, and maintenance schedules.
  • Conduct or oversee regular property inspections, including pre- and post-arrival inspections and proactively resolve issues.
  • Troubleshoot problems, evaluate solutions, and advise owners on decision-making.
  • Oversee property-related projects, including light remodels, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Maintain vendor databases and ensure accurate property records.
  • Prepare and deliver reports on property status, budgets, and projects to ownership.

Qualifications required for your success
  • 10+ years of estate or property management experience with focus on hospitality / guest services, operational leadership, project management, and grounds keeping.
  • Prior supervisory and leadership experience.
  • Experience in contract negotiation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage operational and project budgets.
  • Background in delivering high-touch, high-quality service.
  • Strong network of advisors or ability to source experts as needed.
Additional Helpful Experience Includes
  • Experience managing residential properties for high-net worth individuals and families.
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices in estate management.
  • Exposure to confidential, private family office operations.
